Environmental Centre of the City of Kuopio promotes and supervises environmental protection as well as healthy, pleasant environment in Kuopio.

In addition, its duties include veterinary services and consumer counselling providing advice on consumer guidance in general as well as debt and financial issues. Kuopio Natural History Museum is subject to Environmental Centre.

Environmental Centre is subordinate to Environmental Committee. About 50 employees work in the centre, the expertise of which is available for residents and other customers.
