Kuopio provides good education services
The city of Kuopio provides good education services, with 34 comprehensive schools and 6 upper secondary schools, the Upper Secondary School for Adults and the Community College.
In addition to schools maintained by the city, other educational institutions offer a broad variety for further high-level education, e.g. the University of Eastern Finland, Savonia University of Applied Sciences and Savo Vocational College.

School health care
Every school has its own public health nurse. Appointments in schools are available every day or less frequently, depending on the school.

The school nurse can arrange an appointment with the doctor or can guide the pupil to special services if needed, e.g. with the school psychologist or the school social worker. The health care services work with actors connected with the pupils. One of the primary goals is to strengthen school-home cooperation.
