ANTI-festival starts 13.9. around Kuopio

ANTI – Contemporary Art Festival is annual international modern art festival in Kuopio. It starts on Tuesday 13.9.2022.

Program consists of current artworks by Finnish and international artists and audience can enjoy them for free around Kuopio City. ANTI Festival International Prize for Live Art delivering will culminate the festival week. During the festival we will also see the artworks by last years`festival prize winners.

Art in the Library, Art Museum, Market Place, Theater, City Hall and elsewhere

City of Kuopio will get diverse setting of internationally known presentation art. Last year`s Live Art Prize winner Alex Baczynski-Jenkins (Poland/Great Britain) performs in City Hall with his poetic choreography, which goes after Kuopio to Modern Art Museum Kiasma. Live Art Prize winner two years ago Brian Fuata (Australia) is making his artwork Intermission in Kuopio City Theater.

In Kuopio Library will be created River Linin`s (Taiwan) work My Body is a Queer Library. In Library`s exhibition hall we can see some projects by visual art students from Aalto University. 

In Art Museum`s cafe 60+ working group of Kuopio residents together with artists Emma FältinAnna-Maria Väisänen and Roberto Fusco share their common trip to future Kuopio. 

Kuopio Market Place will get four artworks, which encourage in different ways passer-by people and friends of art to memorable moments. These works are: Plant Based Stories, Oh Europa, The Church of 4 Floors of Whores and Ocean Island Mine.

Program will spread out also to Haminalahti village house, VR-workshop, Kulttuuriareena 44, Scandic Kuopio and other places. All events are free of charge!
