June in Kuopio Art Museum is full of programmes for youth

Artist Mikko Valtonen`s (1968-2019) exhibition opens on Saturday 21.5 in Kuopio Art Museum. Valtonen did his art by painting and sculptures. He is also a well-known comics artist.

In June Kuopio Art Museum organizes comics workshops and two days long art camp. On Thursday 9.6. at 2.30-4.30 pm everyone, interested in drawing, is welcome to comics workshop. On Tuesday and Wednesday 14.-15.6. comics workshops at 2-3.30 pm are oriented to young people of 15-28 years old. During the workshops you can get to know Mikko Valtonen`s exhibition and can make your own comics, inspired by it. Artists of all kinds are welcome. In workshops we follow safe and discrimination free principle. Workshops are guided by community artist Johanna Rossi. Day camp for upper comprehensive school pupils will take place on Thu-Fri 16.-17.6. from 11 am to 3 pm. During the camp you will discuss visual arts and research different forms of it. You will consider together how to approach art and talk about different art thoughts and opinions. Kuopio Art Museum offers you a company of congenial people, exciting discussions and fun. The camp is guided by Kuopio Art Museum`s museum assistant Jenita Martikainen and drama educator Anni Marin. Additional information and registration until 10.6.: jenita.martikainen(at)kuopio.fi.
