Tahko MTB on the weekend 1.-2.7.

Finland's largest mountain biking event, Tahko MTB, will be held this coming weekend, 1-2.7.2022, in the terrains of Tahko and Nilsiä. More than 1,800 participants from all over Finland are expected for the event.

– This year's event has attracted a lot of interest. Last year, due to corona restrictions, some of those who registered postponed their participation to this year, so now Tahko will see almost the same number of mountain bikers as before corona, says event manager Hannu Airila.

The event has focused especially on the enjoyment of children and families.

– On Friday, there is a lot to do and experience in the Tahko area for families with children. On Friday from 12 to 1 pm there is a free cycling school for children and the crown of the evening is the MiniMTB starting at 5.30 pm, which is a safe way to try participating in the event. MiniMTB is free and all finishers are rewarded, Airila says.

Tahko MTB's trips range from two-kilometer MiniMTB up to 180 kilometers. For some of the riders on the longest route, the performance can take up to 15 hours. Hot weather has been promised for the event weekend, which increases the demands of the performances.
