Social Emergency Services of Kuopio

 

The social emergency services of Kuopio are available outside the office hours on weekdays from 3 pm to 8 am and at weekends from Friday 3 pm to Monday 8 am on social emergency matters, for residents of the following municipalities and for those staying there: Joroinen, Kaavi, Kuopio, Leppävirta, Rautalampi, Rautavaara, Siilinjärvi, Suonenjoki, Tervo, Tuusniemi, Varkaus and Vesanto .

Social emergency services are intended for people of all ages and of all client groups in need of urgent care, security and help in various crises and social emergencies outside office hours in Kuopio's social emergency service area. A social emergency requires quick action and the situation cannot wait until the next day or over the weekend without serious consequences.

Social emergency services are carried out by social work professionals as provided in the Social Welfare Law, based on cooperation with authorities.

Kuopio's social emergency services can be reached through the emergency response center’s number 112.

During office hours, each municipality is responsible for urgent social services in their own municipality.
