A celebration of community spirit takes over Kuopio in August

Our Kuopio Festival brings joy, culture, and encounters to city residents from August 15 to 31, 2025. The events are spread across Kuopio, from the suburbs to the countryside, and are mainly organized by the residents themselves.
This year’s festival program includes over 80 events or event series that offer something for everyone: circus, music, sports, and much more. Most of the events are free of charge and open to everyone.
During the festival, music lovers can enjoy, among other things, a day of live music on August 16 at the Kuopio City Theater amphitheater. The festival’s neighborhood events will be held on August 16 in Niirala, August 17 in Kelloniemi and Old Haapaniemi, and August 31 in Särkiniemi. In addition, Brynonf Weekend will be held in Juankoski on August 15–17, and the Nilsiä Arts Festival will be celebrated on August 15–16.
The festival culminates in the Night of Arts
In honor of the 250th anniversary of Kuopio, the Our Kuopio Festival will be even more impressive than ever. The festival will culminate in a program organized on Kauppakatu Street and in the city’s cultural institutions during the Night of Arts. Admission to the city’s museums is free, and the museums will be open until 9 p.m. In addition, various associations will be organizing programs throughout the city. The diverse range of events over the weekend is sure to offer something for everyone.
Come and celebrate the city’s 250th anniversary, culture, and doing things together!
