The Kuopio City Library System change is approaching – all libraries will be closed 20.10.-3.11.2026.

The Kuopio City library will be changing its management system at the turn of October and November. All library services will be closed during the system changing 20.10.-3.11.2026. During this period, self-service access to self-service libraries will be unavailable and library buses will not operate. Users will not be able to sign in to the Finna online library and catalogue searches will be unavailable. In addition, all e-resources that require a Kuopio City library card and PIN code for authentication will be out of service. The national E-Library service will remain available and operate normally throughout the changing period.

All branches of the Kuopio City library will reopen on Wednesday, 4 November 2026.

Self-service access to self-service libraries will remain unavailable until 8.11, meaning that these libraries will initially be open only during staffed service hours. Access to the online library, including login and catalogue search functions, will be restored on 11.11. At the same time, the new mobile library app Aapeli will be launched.

After the libraries reopen, staff will be learning to use the new system, so customer service may be slower than usual for a period of time.
