Puijo sports and recreation venue is a versatile sports centre providing opportunities for sports and exercise around the year. The Puijo stadium located below the Puijo tower is the heart of the venue, and the starting point for an extensive ski track and exercise trail network. The venue also includes a ski jumping hills, downhill ski slope, thePuijo stairs excellent for improving your fitness, and many grass fields. At the outskirts of the venue, you will also find a Finnish baseball stadium and anoutdoor exercise venue. The area also includes a 2,65 km long lit roller skiing track with an asphalt surface (width 4-5 m). Welcome to Puijo!

Puijo sports and recreation venue under development

Winter sports have long traditions in Puijo. Locals have engaged in sledding, skiing and ski jumping on the slope ever since early 1900s. Gradually, summer sports have also spread to the area. There are current efforts to further develop the area and enhance the diversity of available exercise venues.

Puijo downhill ski slope is an exception:
A short and steep ski slope of around 400 metres is located next to the Puijo ski jumping hills. The slope is mainly used for training and competitions (Kuopio Ski Club).
