Integration
In Finland, a wide range of services are available to support settling in, finding employment, and learning the language. Your family members may also be entitled to these services if they move to Finland with you.
When you move to Finland, you have the right to receive basic information about Finland. When your residence permit or residence card is granted, or when you register your right of residence, you will receive information about Finnish society and working life, your rights and responsibilities, and services that support your integration.
If you need advice or guidance, you can contact International House Kuopio. You can get help with matters related to working life, education and studies, as well as integration. You can also get more information about services and measures that support integration. Guidance is available in several languages, and an interpreter can be used if needed.

In Finland, additional services are available to support integration for people who have lived in Finland for less than three years. These services include, for example, an assessment of integration service needs and skills, as well as an integration plan. You may be entitled to these services in certain situations, such as if you
- are unemployed and seeking work
- receive income support on a non-temporary basis
- take care of your child at home and receive child home care allowance
- moved to Finland before the age of 18 without a guardian
- came to Finland as a refugee
- are a victim of human trafficking
You can also request an assessment of your integration service needs yourself.
