Kuopio Dance Festival
Kuopio Dance Festival is the oldest and most wide-ranging international dance festival in the Nordic countries. The festival was founded in 1970 and is held annually in June.
The week-long festival presents both new trends and old familiar dances from around the world. The programme includes first-time visits, premieres as well as new and old performances. In addition to the main performances, the festival offers a wide range of dance courses for professionals, enthusiasts and beginners as well as plenty of activities with free admission.
The festival week consists of around 100 main performances, dance courses, marketplace events, artist interviews, and other dance-related activities. The event is organised in collaboration with several long-term partners.
