Corrective substance abuse work
Corrective substance abuse work, social work with intoxicant users and services for substance abusers offer substance abuse-related withdrawal services, assessments, driving licence monitoring, treatment and rehabilitation. The North Savo wellbeing services county has been responsible for the substance abuse services in Kuopio since 1 January 2023. More information on substance abuse treatments is also available through the Finnish Substance Abuser Care Foundation (Päihdepalvelusäätiö) and the Crisis Centre. There are also several organisations in Kuopio that provide substance abuse services, peer support, conversation therapy (also to the substance abuser’s friends and family members), housing assistance and many other services.
