City of Kuopio’s website was renewed in spring 2023, updating the look of the site to suit the city’s colourful brand and making changes to the structure to improve access to information for residents. Kuopio is an international city, with almost 5% of its residents speaking other language than Finnish as their mother tongue.

A Russian-language version of the site has now been completed and the homepage can be found at www.kuopio.fi/ru. Russian speakers are the largest language group among foreign-language speakers living in Kuopio. In addition, a large number of Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Kuopio in recent years as a result of the war of aggression in Russia, and many of them are helped by the Russian-language information about services on the website.

Russian version is more limited than the Finnish version and aims to provide information on the most essential services of the city.
