City of Kuopio - Frontpage

Kuopio hall has been changed during this week to be a coronavirus vaccination centre. For the moments, the hall is totally closed to other activities for some time.

A new biking season is about to start. Popular Vilkku city bikes will be available on Monday April 26th. There will be 250 bikes available for the third season, and 35 city bike stations around the city. Vilkku city bike passes can be purchased at 8 a.m.

City of Kuopio has signed an agreement with Väre Ltd for the purchase of green electricity. From now on all the electricity used by the city of Kuopio is produced by renewable energy sources. This is a significant decision from the point of view of environmental responsibility, because Kuopio´s total electricity consumption is 55,000 megawatt-hours in a year.
