City board
The City Board manages the City’s administration and finances and is responsible for its performance and taking care of its interests.
The City Board of Kuopio has 11 members. Each member has a personal deputy member. A member and deputy member of the City Board may only be elected from among the City Councillors or Deputy Councillors.
The City Council elects the chairperson and the first and second deputy chairpersons from among the members of the City Board.
The City Board’s period of office is two years.

City Board meetings
As a rule, the meetings of the City Board are held on Mondays at 2 p.m. After their inspection, the minutes of the City Board are publicly available on the City of Kuopio website at www.kuopio.fi/paatoksenteko. The meetings of the City Board are not open to the public. The City Office acts as the general preparation and implementation body of the City Board.
