City Administration
Municipal administration is based on self-government, which rests on the authority of elected representatives and officials. The highest municipal body, the Council, gets its power from the citizens in local elections held every four years.
The City Council chooses the members of the other municipal bodies, including the City Executive and municipal committees.
Mayor
Elected by the City Council, the Mayor is a local government officer operating subordinate to the City Executive who directs the municipality's administration, financial management and other activities.
